Miss Korea 2017 is Seo Jae-won

Note: In previous years, Miss Korea winners were sent to Miss Universe, while runners-up were handpicked to compete in Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth. However, the Miss Korea organization last year lost the franchises to Miss Universe and Miss World. Korea’s representatives to Miss International and Miss Earth last year were chosen from the runners-up.

Seo Jae Won, who is one of the 11th sequential contestants to beat the other participants and became ‘Miss Korea to 61’.Instead of giving congratulations to Seo Jae Won, netizens even throw negative comments on Seo Jae Won and the annual program.
“Is not this competition more to choose the best plastic face, haha,”
“To be honest, if you win this competition, you should thank the doctors and plastic surgery clinics you use. Stop thanking your parents, ”

“I think the beautiful people in this country do not bother with this kind of competition because it is not as prestigious as usual. Basically this is an opportunity for plastic faces to do something for their lives. So many beautiful girls choose to walk in Itaewon instead of joining this competition,  (Source: Kpopchart)

It’s official! Egypt will be returning to Miss Universe 2017 under the new directorship of Hoda Abboud, who runs Alexandria based events management company Event4U.

She is also the aunt of reigning Miss Egypt Universe, Lara Debbane. Egypt last competed in Miss Universe 2014 after which the national competition was disbanded by the former organizer.

In a conversation with Missosology, Hoda revealed that this year the Miss Egypt pageant will be low key due to lack of time for preparation and will take place tentatively in October to select representative to Miss Universe 2017. Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa arrived in style at NAIA Terminal 2, late afternoon on November 11, 2016. The newly-crowned queen was all smiles as she waved at the members of the media and her throng of supporters waiting for her arrival. Later that night, she was feted a meet-and-greet with the media, attended by Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. chairperson Stella Marquez Araneta.

Kylie bested 69 other candidates from all over the world on her way to taking home the country’s sixth Miss International title. She admits to having mixed emotions upon learning that she won the crown.

“I feel good winning the title. I was surprised, there’s so much good competition. So, when they called my name, it was a mixture of shock and relief. I was very surprised and very happy also,” she says.
