On Saturday April 1, 2017 the founder of  One Act Foundation Guyana, Miss World Guyana 2016, Nuriyyih Gerrard and her team, successfully launched Guyana’s Social and Emotional Learning program (S.E.L) with a social gathering at the Botanical Gardens!

The event saw the attendance of the full complement of our target group, including seven executive members of the One Act Foundation Guyana (OAF).

The social launch was aimed at introducing young girls to team OAF and fostering a reliable and trustworthy support network. The agenda comprised of an icebreaker activity, an overview of the OAF and the SEL Program by founder Ms. Gerrard and team building games. The program was concluded with a brief session on how to encourage positive thinking through the use of affirmations!

Since the launch, the OAF has added five more girls to the S.E.L program, bringing our total number of participants to 22!

The group extends heartfelt thanks to Ms. Omeika Daniels who brought the girls out to the event and Fenella’s Catering Services for providing snacks.

OAF is as excited as the girls are about our next SEL session!
